Southampton ILEX Courses

As we all know, Bournemouth & Poole College stopped offering ILEX courses several years ago leaving a huge gap in the availability of face to face provision. There have been one or two ideas about private facilities but none has got off the ground and I believe even Yeovil is having some trouble continuing.

Nevertheless, Southampton Solent University remain very committed to providing ILEX courses and want to expand their delivery if possible. As ever though, this depends on securing sufficient numbers. In order to gauge the level of interest, they have recently issued a questionnaire in their area but Southampton Branch thought it would be worthwhile our circulating it too. Particularly for those in the eastern half of the region, Southampton is pretty accessible and if enrolled with them, you can also do your exams there so avoiding the trek to London or Bristol.

The questionnaire is exceptionally short so if you have any interest in attending courses there then do please complete and return it to Trisha Kyle (her details are in the form). If Southampton is not an option, don’t forget that Ilex Tutorial College offers a good deal of support including face to face elements (though please note I am a non-executive director of ITC so can be accused of bias) and that, at Branch level, we are keen to support students with study groups and revision days if there is demand.
